What is the free tier?
The free tier gives you a monthly allowance of AI usage. This covers all the AI features — chat, image generation, research, writing, and more.
Where can I see my usage?
Look at the bottom of the left sidebar. There's a usage meter that shows how much of your monthly allowance you've used. You can also go to Account for more detail.
What happens when I reach my limit?
When you're getting close to your limit, the usage meter will turn yellow (at 80%) and then orange/red (at 95%). Once you hit 100%, the AI will let you know you've reached your limit for the month.
Your limit resets at the start of each calendar month.
What are my options when I hit the limit?
- Wait for the monthly reset — your limit resets automatically
- Upgrade to a paid plan — get a higher or unlimited allowance
- Switch to Pay-as-you-Go — $10/month covers platform access plus some chat and usage to get you started, with the option to top up credits anytime for more
What counts toward my usage?
Every AI response uses some of your monthly allowance. Longer, more complex tasks (like deep research or generating multiple images) use more than short, simple answers.
Browsing the help center, managing contacts, and uploading files do not count toward your limit.
How do I upgrade?
Go to Account in the sidebar and look for the upgrade options. You can switch plans or add credit at any time.
Common questions
Does unused allowance roll over? No — the monthly allowance resets fresh each month.
Will I be charged automatically if I go over? Only if you've added pay-as-you-go credit. Otherwise, the AI simply pauses until your limit resets.
